Over the course of nine months, we guide young learners through an immersive and comprehensive program that covers debate, speech and drama, and elocution. Each component of our curriculum—debate, speech and drama, and elocution—plays a pivotal role in enhancing your child's speaking abilities.
In this course, we will delve into each of these modules for a period of three months each.
Engaging in debates helps children learn to construct arguments, think critically, and develop a clear and persuasive speaking style. They will explore various topics, learn to see different perspectives, and hone their ability to defend their viewpoints with confidence and poise.
Through speech and drama activities, students learn the nuances of voice modulation, body language, and expressive communication. Drama exercises foster creativity, empathy, and the ability to convey emotions effectively, while speech practice enhances clarity and articulation.
Elocution training focuses on the art of clear and expressive speech, particularly in pronunciation and articulation. This component helps children refine their diction, improve their command of the language, and deliver speeches with precision and grace.
Our debate sessions encourage students to use their entire body to express their points of view. Through structured arguments and rebuttals, students learn to align their verbal and nonverbal communication, enhancing their persuasive power.
Through drama activities, students explore the nuances of body language. They practice using facial expressions, gestures, and movements to convey emotions and tell stories, which helps in developing a natural and expressive communication style.
Elocution lessons at Speak and Shine go beyond pronunciation and articulation. We focus on how students present themselves, teaching them to use eye contact, confident posture, and appropriate gestures to engage their audience.
Each student receives individualized feedback on their body language. We use video recordings and mirror exercises to help students see and refine their nonverbal communication, making them more aware and intentional in their gestures and expressions.
By engaging in role-playing exercises, students practice real-life situations where whole body communication is key. These scenarios help them understand the importance of congruency between their words, tone, and body language.

In each module, children will participate in two virtual showcases, providing students with professional stage experience and opportunities to overcome stage fear.
Parents are also invited to attend.
After reaching a set number of public speaking training hours, children can pursue certification from Trinity College London as a benchmark of their learning, though it's optional.
