  1. Verbal Communication (7%) : While the words we choose are important, they are just a small part of how our message is received.
  2. Vocal Communication (38%) : Tone of voice, pitch, volume, and pace can convey emotions and attitudes, significantly impacting how our message is interpreted.
  3. Visual Communication (55%) : Body language, including facial expressions, gestures, and posture, is the most powerful component, often speaking louder than words.

How Speak and Shine Incorporates Whole Body Communication

Interactive Debates and Discussions

Our debate sessions encourage students to use their entire body to express their points of view. Through structured arguments and rebuttals, students learn to align their verbal and nonverbal communication, enhancing their persuasive power.

Speech and Drama Exercises

Through drama activities, students explore the nuances of body language. They practice using facial expressions, gestures, and movements to convey emotions and tell stories, which helps in developing a natural and expressive communication style.

Elocution Training

Elocution lessons at Speak and Shine go beyond pronunciation and articulation. We focus on how students present themselves, teaching them to use eye contact, confident posture, and appropriate gestures to engage their audience.

Personalized Feedback

Each student receives individualized feedback on their body language. We use video recordings and mirror exercises to help students see and refine their nonverbal communication, making them more aware and intentional in their gestures and expressions.

Role-Playing Scenarios

By engaging in role-playing exercises, students practice real-life situations where whole body communication is key. These scenarios help them understand the importance of congruency between their words, tone, and body language.

After reaching a set number of public speaking training hours, children can pursue Trinity College London Certification as a benchmark of their learning, though it's optional.
